Digital asset risks
Important risks associated with Check2Crypto digital asset payouts
Effective date: May 21, 2026
1. Not an Investment Product
Check2Crypto converts eligible check proceeds into digital assets after verification and approval. It is not a securities offering, trading program, yield product, or investment advisory service. ALMOST A BANK, LLC does not recommend buying, holding, or selling any digital asset.
2. No Guaranteed Payout or Value
We do not guarantee that any check will be approved, that funds will clear, that a payout will occur by a specific date, or that any digital asset will maintain a particular value. Approval and timing depend on eligibility, verification, compliance, and clearing.
3. Digital Asset Volatility
Digital assets can gain or lose value rapidly. ETH is subject to significant price volatility. Even after receipt, the USD equivalent of your holdings may change at any time.
4. USDC and Stablecoin Risks
USDC is intended to maintain a one-to-one peg with the U.S. dollar, but de-pegging events, issuer operational failures, reserve concerns, regulatory actions, or market stress could affect value, transferability, or redemption. Stablecoins are not legal tender and are not FDIC insured.
5. Fee Impact on Net Payout
Your net payout is reduced by fees disclosed before approval, including a 6% service fee, a check processing fee, and a $5.00 minimum combined fee where applicable, plus any blockchain network fees. Review the Fees page before submitting a check.
6. Check Settlement and Return Risk
Checks may be dishonored, returned, or subject to hold periods. If a check fails after a payout was sent, we may pursue recovery to the extent permitted by law. You are responsible for submitting only valid, authorized instruments.
7. Personal, Business, and Government Check Risks
Each check category carries distinct risks. Business checks require authorized signer verification. Government checks may involve additional validation delays. Declined or delayed government or business checks do not entitle you to a payout.
8. Transaction Irreversibility
Blockchain transactions are generally final once confirmed. If you provide an incorrect wallet address, wrong network, or incompatible wallet, assets may be permanently lost. We cannot reverse on-chain transfers.
9. Wallet and Custody Risk
You control the wallet receiving payouts. Loss of private keys, seed phrases, or device access may result in permanent loss of funds. Never share private keys or seed phrases with us or anyone claiming to be support.
10. Cybersecurity Risk
Phishing, malware, SIM-swapping, and exchange hacks may compromise your accounts or wallets. Use strong passwords, two-factor authentication, and reputable wallet software.
11. Blockchain Network Risk
Network congestion, outages, forks, protocol bugs, or validator issues may delay or prevent timely delivery of USDC or ETH. Network fees (gas) fluctuate and may increase costs.
12. Regulatory and Licensing Risk
Digital asset and money services laws evolve. Services, assets, or jurisdictions may be restricted or discontinued. ALMOST A BANK, LLC is registered with FinCEN as a Money Services Business; FinCEN registration does not constitute approval, recommendation, endorsement, or verification by FinCEN.
13. Operational and Technology Risk
System outages, vendor failures, or manual review delays may affect processing. We are not liable for delays outside our reasonable control.
14. Tax and Reporting
You are responsible for tax reporting related to digital assets and check proceeds. We do not provide tax advice. Consult a qualified tax professional.
15. Acknowledgment
